Bloomsbury Tour

Bloomsbury is the location of the famous British Museum and University College London.

Many tours of this area feature literature and politics, but not mine!

This is a tour that almost defies a summary. In the Georgian streets and squares of Bloomsbury hear of curious lives, strange enterprises, startling achievements and forgotten by-ways of history around science, medicine, war, geeky ladies and more.

The mix on this tour may touch on a great diversity of subjects including camouflage, early computing, medicine in and out of the battlefield, chemistry, navigation and other esoteric bits of history. Pleasingly for scientific stories, several of them centre on women.
